A Welcome from the Superintendent

Welcome to the Weiser School District.  As the sign reads as you enter town “We love our kids, our community, and our country!”

The WSD is an integral part of the Weiser community and includes five schools: Pioneer Primary (K-3), Park Intermediate (4-5), Weiser Middle School (6-8), Weiser High School (9-12), and Indianhead Academy (alternative high school).  Pioneer Primary includes a developmental preschool program for students having disabilities and provides on-campus classrooms used by Head Start.  The WSD serves over 1500 students.

It is our vision is to be The Highest Achieving Rural School District in Idaho.  Our staff works cooperatively to develop an effective curriculum that offers choices to students in order to appeal to their individual interests and needs.  We offer comprehensive and coordinated literacy and math programs at the elementary levels, and a variety of core and elective courses at the middle and high school levels.

In addition to traditional core courses, WHS students have the option to participate in a number of dual credit courses in order to obtain college credits while attending high school.  And students have access to Career Technical Educational (CTE) courses in Agricultural Science, Health Occupations, Auto-Mechanics, Construction Technology, Career and Business Technology, and STRAP (School To Registered Apprenticeship Program.)  Many CTE students earn industry certificates through their efforts.

Additionally, students participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular clubs and programs that include a variety of interscholastic sports.  The district maintains outstanding performing arts opportunities for students interested in music, and fosters engineering options though highly successful programs such as robotics.  We are big enough to offer choices, yet small enough to include opportunities for everyone to stay connected.

Weiser High School graduates have found success at colleges and universities across the country including: Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Notre Dame, Boston University, University of Washington Medical School, Berklee School of Music, Oklahoma, and many more.  Other students find success putting their CTE certificates to use in the workforce, by serving their country through service in the armed forces, and more.

Our community and schools are full of spirit.  Weiser is a great place to live, raise a family, and educate kids.  Thanks to a supportive community and dedicated school staff, students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and follow their dreams.  From Weiser, students can go anywhere……

I invite you to visit our schools and meet our administrators and staff.  Please feel free to contact any of the schools should you have questions about our community, our schools, or any of our programs.  GO WOLVERINES!!!

Respectfully,

Wade Wilson, Superintendent
